A note from the President:
 

Welcome back children and parents of Pope Elementary!! We hope you had a great summer vacation and are as excited as we are to kick off this school year with great success.

 

We are the Pope Dads’ Club and we welcome any and all fathers/guardians with children at Pope to be a part of our very active group. We’re the guys in the matching t-shirts you’ve seen directing traffic and greeting your children the first week of school. We strive to be positive role models for our children and do many different projects every year around the school that are fun and educational or help enhance the learning experience for our kids.

 

We do things like the Fall Festival, Dads at Doors, Donuts with Dads, Historical Timeline presentations, room makeovers, gardening/landscaping projects, caroling, and MUCH more. We are a pretty informal group, but get a lot of things done and HAVE A LOT OF FUN DOING IT! Most importantly, we try to include our kids in these projects as much as possible so we can bond with them and show them valuable life skills.

 

This year will be another great year and we would love to have you be a part of it. Our meetings are typically held on the 2^nd Thursday of each month and last for only an hour or so. Please contact us via email (pdctreasure@yahoo.com) or leave your contact info for us at the school office.  There is no fee to be a member.

Any member must be an approved AISD volunteer (which is easy). Simply fill out the volunteer application at any of our meetings or pick one up at the school office.  Please complete it and bring it to the school office with a copy of your driver’s license. You can come to our meetings, but will not be able to do things with the children until your name is on this approved list.

 

Finally, we are a charitable non-profit organization and any contributions are graciously appreciated… and tax deductible! Thank you!!

August 25^th-29^th        Dads at Doors (7:45-8:20am during first week of school),

September 11^th         PDC General Meeting, 6:30pm, Pope Cafeteria.

September 19^th         Donuts with Dads, share some donuts with your kids before school starts.

October 9^th                PDC General Meeting, 6:30pm, location TBA

November 8^th            Fall Festival

November 13^th          PDC General Meeting, 6:30pm, location TBA

December 11^th          PDC General Meeting, 6:30pm, location TBA
