2006-2007 - Major Project Front Yard Demonstration Gardens Project
We expanded sidewalks for improved traffic flow and beautified the three 'islands' with drought tolerant Texas Native Plants. We taught the children on Arbor Day about native plants, composting and how to plant things.
Nearly every child participated through planting, putting out butterfly food on the trees, and learning how these plants, that need almost no water, will attract caterpillars and butterflies.
Every grade level has their own section of the demonstration gardens that they can take care of.
